Amazingly enough, Miley survived. We now own a 3-legged Roborovski's dwarf hamster. I kid you not. And did it slow the darn thing down? NOPE. She's still too fast to catch most of the time, and she can run lickety-split in her (hamster-safe) wheel. Animals are amazing.
So...Emily took the rodent to the 4-H Pet Show and demonstrated her handling and knowledge of her pet to a judge and got a pink Reserve Champion ribbon! Not a clue what that means, but we don't care - she got a ribbon! (Kelly and I were never 4-Hers so this is all new to us, but we're having fun!) Then she also entered the "Best Decorated Cage" category, and we decorated it like a little girl's room, with Hannah Montana "posters" all around, "Princess" posters, a dollhouse bed and rocking chair, table, and of course, what little girls' room would be complete without a laptop? She got a purple ribbon for he
r efforts, and we were all very very happy for Emily and Miley.
